“Are you kidding? You mean to say you are Mirza Ghalib, The Greatest poet of Urdu and Persian. You are 'The Mirza Ghalib'…Please stop taking me on a ride. Will You?” I paused for a moment and then suddenly retraced back with a thought, “Are you a ghost!!!” As I said this to him, a part of mine started uttering the lines from the prayer to Lord Hanuman to keep evil forces away,
भूत पिसाच निकट नहिं आवै
महाबीर जब नाम सुनावै
(Bhoot pisaach Nikat nahin aavai
Mahavir jab naam sunavae)
(All the ghosts, demons and evil forces keep away,
With the sheer mention of your great name, O’ Mahaveer, the Lord Hanuman!!)

The excitement and challenge to get a window seat is something which awakens the child even in the grown up person. So when I was purchasing the tickets for the bus, I specifically requested at the ticket counter to arrange for the window seat, if possible. And when the voice from the ticket window answered in the positive tone my joy knew no bounds.

Coming to School

Source: Google Images

***Out of the blue I found this poem written on a piece of a paper hidden in one of the old book. This poem was written a long time back, during those good old days. It does sound a bit primitive at some places, still I haven’t changed anything about it and have reproduced it ‘as is’ here.***

What purpose does coming to school serve
Answering this is nothing but aching ones nerve
Certain misnomers coming to my mind
But they just play seek and hide

Pensive Reflections. . .May 15 2015

It’s the connection of the heart and consensus of the soul that binds two people. And when the heart and soul unite, there is nothing ‘Mine’ and nothing ‘Yours’, it's just 'We' and ‘Ours’.

Behind The Book. . .

Child abuse, one of the many problems that persist in India today, is arguably the filthiest. Of late, we have heard of instances of children being exploited but the most gruesome abuse is child sex abuse. The Silent Scream takes up this issue which people normally turn a blind eye towards. Through the subtlety quoted instances mentioned in this narrative non-fiction we are exposed to the disturbing lives of child predators and their innocent, young unassuming victims. The Silent Scream is a ready guide to create awareness about this rampantly growing evil with the aim of sensitising the general public on the ways in which sex abusers operate. A humble effort is also being made to counsel the victims and carry forward the war against this menace so that other innocent souls are saved.

Chronicles of a Solitary Soul – The Nocturnal Bliss. . .

Can you recall our age old audio cassette player, which existed way before the era of compact discs, thumb drives and the smartphones arrived? Life is just like that…whatever is the juncture howsoever is the road; the beats are always on, the rhythm is always live and the music seldom stops. The fact whether that music is soothing to the soul or not is a different matter altogether. And that’s where the difference creeps in…unfortunately, the life doesn’t really have any of those pause or fast forward keys to hang on to the good times or erase over the bad ones and it keeps moving at its own pace, over and again, over and again. There must be some reasonableness in that aspect of the life because everything that happens (perhaps) happens for the reason. As they say, good moments give memories and the bad ones experiences. May be the later ones become all the more important to inculcate the patience, virtue and to instil faith as are the former ones to instil positivity and assurance.
